Meteor Print Controller Cards are the heart of the Meteor system.  They buffer image data and control all communications, power and signals between the PC and the printheads.  Each controls up to 6 printheads and any number of Print Controller Cards can be combined to work as a single synchronized electronics assembly.  A daisy-chain connector supplies high frequency synchronization (typically 1/16th of a pixel) between cards with one card acting as the ‘Master’ and receiving encoder and product detect information as required by the print application. Each card is connected via USB hubs to a PC.

Meteor Print Controller Cards are Eurocard size and a significant breakthrough in cost compared to older technologies (e.g. non-USB2) used for print engine electronics.
