TTP to present reduction in time-to-market for companies launching new services based on connected devices
Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, 14-17 Feb 2011
TTP has enabled many companies to bring machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions and connected devices to market in diverse industries including healthcare, energy, broadcast, consumer electronics, retail and transportation. Our platform solution allows companies to develop and deploy end to end M2M services quickly and efficiently.
Historically, M2M solutions have focused on a small number of vertical applications addressing the requirements of a specific market, such as vehicle telematics. Many components of these solutions are highly customised, leading to a fragmented supply chain that evolved slowly and imposed a high barrier to entry.
During the coming decade, M2M will be transformed. Ericsson predicts that up to 50Bn devices will be connected globally by 2020.
Today, many companies new to the communications market are seeking to take advantage of recent developments in data services and wireless technology to introduce new products and services. To achieve this quickly and cost-effectively requires a new approach, re-using solutions that have already been developed for similar applications in other industries, yet retaining the flexibility to provide custom, differentiated devices and user interfaces. For example, using this approach TTP has recently brought a novel retail service proposition, in the energy sector, to trials in just 2 months.
At MWC 2011, TTP will be describing how it can help companies capitalise on these service opportunities quickly and at a much lower cost than before, at a presentation on Connected Devices for Smart Energy, Smart Living at the UK Technology seminar organised by Cambridge Wireless's Connected Devices SIG from 10.30-12.30 on Wednesday 16 Feb in Hall 8.
